Broadcasting on the FM dial on Maui's airwaves isn't always about playing island music. Sometimes it's simply about playing music for the island audience who live here and for the visitors who happen to run across the radio show in their rental cars or hear us blaring in a store while they shop for trinkets to bring back home. It's always a treat to introduce a tourist to the powerful Hawaiian music of Keali'i Reichel and Raiatea Helm, the contemporary style of Anuhea, the slack key masters and the classic island pop of Kalapana, Na Leo Pilimehana and Cecilio & Kapono. Sometimes, as this aircheck clearly demonstrates, afternoon radio hosts Summer Blue and Michael McCartney just like to cut loose with an eclectic mix of brand new pop tunes played alongside classic pop gems and rare chestnut recordings of yesteryear.

The Time Machine's producer Jenny Leong supplied the plate lunches from Zippy's to keep the show running smoothly on the FM dial without a hitch.
